Lighting for luxury and custom homes

A luxury home is lit with restraint: a continuous line of warm white under the eaves, light on the materials that matter (stone, the entry, a mature tree) and deliberate darkness between them. Curbsight Lighting designs the roofline, landscape and interior lighting together, so the house reads as one composition from the street and from the front door.

Not an outline. A composition.

Dots traced around a roof read as decoration. On a fine house, the light should disappear by day and read as architecture at night. That's why our top tier is one continuous line of light with no dots anywhere, in a warm 2700 K white rated CRI 90+, so stone and brick look like themselves.

Designed as one system

The roofline, the walk to the door, the trees and the first room inside are designed in one visit, on one schedule. Warm white most nights, a holiday scene in December, and nothing to climb or change.

  • Roofline: a continuous line along the eaves and the angled rake edges, mounted to the trim, never the shingles.
  • Accents: the entry, columns, a stone wall or a specimen tree, picked out and nothing more.
  • Garden: path lights and moonlighting from the trees, aimed where people walk.
  • Inside: coves, stairs and a lit entry, so arriving home matches the view from the street.

Built to the rules of the neighborhood

Nichols Hills limits outdoor light to warm white, shielded and aimed down. Gaillardia and Quail Creek review exterior changes. We design to those rules from the first sketch and bring what the review asks for: a spec sheet, the mounting method, the track color and a night mockup of your home.

Questions

Luxury and custom homes: questions

What does lighting a luxury home cost?

Roofline lighting starts at $32 a foot with color nodes. The continuous line costs more per foot, landscape lighting is priced per fixture, and interiors per room. A whole-house design is priced after the walk-through, with a night mockup first.

Will it be visible in the daytime?

It shows as a thin line under the roof edge, color-matched to the trim. Your mockup includes a daytime view so you can judge it before you decide.

Can you work with my architect or designer?

Yes. Bring them to the walk-through. On a new build, the channel can be recessed into the soffit so it's invisible by day.
