Building a home? Light it before the soffit goes up

The cleanest permanent lighting is planned before the house is finished. At framing, we lay out where the light goes and your electrician runs power to the soffit. At trim-out, a continuous-line channel is recessed into the soffit itself, so by day there's nothing to see, and on move-in night the house is already lit.

When to call

Before the soffit and trim go up. If the soffit is already on, we can still surface-mount a slim track. It's just never as invisible as a recessed line.

What happens at each stage

StageWhat we do
FramingA lighting plan from your elevations: where the line runs, the zones, where the controller and power supplies live
Rough electricalYour electrician pre-wires outlets or junction boxes in the soffit and attic, per our plan
Trim-outRecessed channel set into the soffit, and cove channels inside for stairs, trays and the kitchen
Move-inLights installed, scenes set, the app handed over

For builders

A one-page rough-in plan for your electrician and trim crew, night mockups for your listing photos, and a model or Parade of Homes house lit to help sell the rest of the street. Call or text 405-706-6042 to set it up.

Questions

Building a new home: questions

Can it go in after we move in?

Yes. A surface-mounted track works on any finished house. Recessed is cleanest when it's planned at framing.

Who does the electrical?

Your builder's licensed electrician runs the power. We install the low-voltage lighting and set up the scenes.

Does it work inside too?

Yes. Coves, stair treads and toe-kicks are easiest to plan at framing, alongside the exterior.
