What we light
- Paths and drives: low path lights where people walk
- Trees: uplights into the canopy, or moonlighting from high in the tree pointing down
- Walls and stone: a soft wash that shows the texture
- Steps and edges: light where a trip could happen
Warm, brass and aimed at night
Brass fixtures weather well and look better with age. Warm white around 2700 K makes plants and stone look natural. The last step happens after dark, when we walk the yard and aim every fixture by eye.
Low-voltage, planned properly
The fixtures run on low-voltage power supplies that plug into an outdoor GFCI outlet. If you need a new outlet, a licensed electrician installs it, and it's itemized on your quote.
In Nichols Hills
The Nichols Hills lighting code requires outdoor light to be aimed down, so we design with path lights and moonlighting rather than uplights there.
